1. Physiotherapy

Here at Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre, we believe that the foundation of successful rehabilitation is quality patient care and education. Your physiotherapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment and create a treatment plan, specific to your needs, which can include a combination of modalities, corrective exercises and hands-on therapy, while ensuring that you fully understand your injury, the causes and how it affects your body. The physiotherapist will also provide advice on how to go about your daily activities and the best approach to returning to your regular sport or activity. The collaborative approach to patient care ensures that your support, network of family, coaches and other care providers are involved in your rehabilitation process. Please note that if you have an ICBC claim that has been accepted and approved for treatment, you will need to contact our office directly to book your Initial appointment. We do not accept Worksafe BC Claims. To book an appointment with Cathy Gordon, please call our office directly and one of our staff members will be happy to assist you in booking your initial and subsequent appointments.

2. Massage

Massage Therapy is performed by a registered massage therapist (RMT) using a variety of hands-on techniques to help alleviate pain, improve mobility and promote rehabilitation. Prior to your treatment, the massage therapist will conduct a complete assessment and diagnosis of your musculoskeletal injuries. Target tissue for massage therapy may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and/or other connective tissues, as well as lymphatic vessels and/or gastrointestinal organs. If necessary, your massage therapist may also prescribe an integrated approach with our team of physiotherapists in order to promote a complete recovery. Please note that if you have an ICBC claim that has been accepted and approved for treatment, you will need to contact our office directly to book you Initial appointment. We do not accept Worksafe BC Claims.
